I have been coming to BE & J since their last location and I can say it’s a place that will leave you with beautiful nails in a short amount of time. The women are kind and skillful. Jessica is the best at her art and very attentive. Expect them to be busy! I appreciate their hard work and happy this place is around.

I do not normally leave reviews but had to with these two manicures.
Last two times I went to the owner. For Gel X manicure
Had to come back because the nail polish chipped in less than 24hrs.

When I came back the first time she did the nails topcoats on a couple of the nails.

Then again 24hrs later nails start lifting and chipping. I told her it was frustrating to have have back twice for the same manicure for plus she made my cuticles raw.

She refused to do it over and just gave me my money back and said not her problem.
Never coming back.

Don’t waste your time or money.

One of if not the worst nail experience(s) ever. I came in to do a gel extension removal and the process was extremely painful, and now after my fingers are in a lot of pain. My nails are now the thinnest they have ever been in my entire life, not to mention also mis-shapen with hangnails on each nail. She nail tech poured acetone all over my arms as well as on my skirt which is permanently stained. Seat had leftover lotion on it that I cleaned up myself before I sat down in the chair.

This review is not about the nails but about the behavior among the staff towards each other. I witnessed 2 manicure techs being bullied by the other staff. The young lady doing my nails, Rui, was belittled and undermined. My pedicure technician spoke to her in English so I KNOW what was being said. She said to Rui “give me the nail polish. I will do it first” (same color on hands and feet. Which delayed the completion of my manicure). When the pedicure was done, this older woman said to Rui, “you clean. I’m going home” (pointing to equipment used during pedicure). Then there was the second person, The other gentleman that was of the same ethic background as Rui (presumably because they were speaking in the same ethnic tongue) was helping clean up and the technician next to me made a hand gesture to him to “get out of her way” she shooed him. I do not know why this happened. I can only suspect it was fueled by differences in race, Vietnamese vs Chinese (only speculation). Either way, this was my first and last time at Be & J. I do not condone bullying and your staff should be ashamed.

I have been to this place few times.
Only two time their work was okay.
I have had two bad experiences (out of 4 visits) that I would like to share.

1- The first time I stoped by their shop I was 6 months pregnant with my twins, after I waited few minutes i found a spot to sit. After they finish my pedicure they told me that they only accept cash! While I only carry cards, I waited 30 min on my foot in their shop for my husband to bring me some cash so they can let me go. When my husband arrived the manager said okay this time you can pay with card! I wanted to scream! They kept me on my foot for long time, while I was pregnant and heavy and asking me for cash while they could do cards too?!!!

I paid $40 for this pedicure.(Tip included)
When she was done I told her that I don’t like it. Please fix it. She laughed and took her stuff and left! She didn’t even care or listen to what I told her!

Due to the bad service I give them one star. They do not value their customers and their work very sloppy.

I love this nail salon! Be is the absolute best! She transformed my nails and made them so healthy. They’re always so busy (bc they’re the best!) I used to go every 2 weeks but have a newborn baby now and it’s hard to get out but if you’re getting your nails done- this is the place! It’s also super affordable.

Timing:
from the moment I entered the salon and signed up as a walk-in and the moment when I left with gel manicure an hour passed.

Pricing:
Average, for my gel manicure I paid $28 plus tip

Quality:
Since we are in Los Angeles, I would say that the quality of work is average for this price, but if I were in Europe, I would rated very low. Although the manicurist was a pleasant and friendly lady, neat.

Would I come back here again ? Most likely yes, I live near by
